A story from Roll Call (subscription required), states that the House Appropriations Committee has extended its deadline for member earmark requests after a “massive influx of requests” caused “unavoidable access and processing delays,” according to Rob Nabors, the committee’s staff director, in a memo to Member offices.

The original deadline of March 19 has been extended to March 24.

The incident comes less than a week after both the House and Senate rejected amendments to their versions of the Congressional budget resolution that would have instituted a one year ban on earmarks.
